Nidaros Cathedral
In the old Norwegian city of Trondheim, is the famous Nidaros Cathedral. Its construction began in 1070 on the place of burial of King Olav the Holy, who was killed at the Battle of Stiklastadire. Completed the construction of the cathedral only in 1300. Here to date committed coronation Norwegian monarchs.
During its long history the cathedral survived several fires, resulting in a reconstructed several times. In 2001, we completed the last and most extensive reconstruction of the building of the cathedral.
The exterior facades of the cathedral made in the Romanesque and Gothic styles. On the west side it is decorated with statues of saints and kings, as well as skillful images of Christ. The real gem of its interiors are unique stained glass windows and antique organs.
